How'd I even get here?

Ever feel you were destined to do great things? To be more than you anyone ever thought you would? I didn't. I didn't have any expectations or goals or aspirations. That's not to say that I was a negative nelly or wasn't a high achiever. I didn't like to be wrong but I also didn't want to stand out.
I wanted to just be normal. What even is that? Who thinks like that? Actually a lot of people. A lot of women. A lot of professional, highly creative, successful women. And the older I get the more I can recognize this in others.
Ironically I chose a profession that is full of judgement. One that actually sets you up to be put on the hot seat and opens the door to being criticized. Becoming a designer was a no brainer for me because I was always drawing and was praised for my talents. I remember being interviewed for an intern position with a big corporation

when I was still in high school and the art director asking me how I came up with the ideas for my illustrations. Ummm... 🤔 no idea. They were just in my head. So. My career path was chosen for me.
After years of flying under the radar creating truly beautiful work I never really saw the value in explaining my designs. Either you liked them or you didn't. They spoke to you or not. I am a good listener and I can read between the lines to the point of being inside your head. I've often taken that for granted. After 30 years in this advertising industry I have flown under the radar and let others soar because I didn't really think of any of this as something great - it was just who I was - who I am. Someone here to listen and make your vision come to life.
If that doesn't sound like someone with goals and aspirations I'm not sure what does.
However, it wasn't until I stumbled upon a business opportunity to be a health coach that I realized how driven I actually was - and how I desperately wanted to break free from my introverted self. By helping women find their own version of what healthy looked and felt like, I realized how I had held myself down all this time! As I started down the weight loss road yet again, I realized this time was different. All those self help books my mom had got dusted off and a ton of new ones got added. Within months of being connected with other women who were in the same boat as me, there was a shift in my mindset. This confident, skilled, worthy version of Vanessa with big dreams started to bubble up. There was so much to do and so little time.
Every women deserves to feel this way.
Every women deserves to dream big.
Every women deserves to not make themself small for fear of judgement.

Open your eyes. The opportunities are out there for you. Surround yourself with positivity and women who will lift you up and inspire you to be greater than you think you are. You can rise to the challenge because you are here, because you are letting go of the negative. You are filling your mind with happy thoughts.
When I feel as though I'm going down a slippery slope of complaining and only seeing what can go wrong and get hit with a major case of Imposter Syndrome I try my best to do these two things every day until my mindset starts to shift back to where good things live!
☀️ First thing in the morning, after I'm showered and ready to start work, I actually say out loud to myself "You're going to have a good day Vanessa. Yes! it's going to be a good day. You're going to make the best of every situation."
🌙 At the end of the day I physically make a note of what happened that was good that day!
Get ready to attract greatness.
